| This picture of "KIDS" was made from what was orginally a black and white photo which was then colorized by hand, a technique which was quite popular before World War II. This chart has been worked by a lady in Indiana (She is the girl on the right) and a photograph of her finished work is shown below. The chart is 255 stitches wide by 256 stitches high, contains 61 DMC colors, and was worked on 14-count cloth to obtain a finished result about 18 inches square. In an e-mail she stated, "I have enjoyed stitching this more than anything else I have ever stitched. The colors are quite good - it resembles a painting more than a stitched project!" As you can see, she has added names below for posterity. We feel that she has done a GREAT job!!. |
